I love living in the Finger Lakes, especially when I come across a peaceful pasture filled with dairy cows. This scene was waiting for me just outside the Geneva city limits—black-and-white cows grazing amid wildflowers beneath a Turner-inspired sky swirling with gold and gray.

There’s something about the contrast between those contented cows and that wonderfully dramatic sky that captures what I love about the back roads around here: beauty, quiet, and the occasional surprise around a bend.
