Sometimes a pear is just too beautifully shaped not to paint.

Green Pear celebrates the simple pleasure of an everyday object given its moment in the spotlight. A plump green pear sits against a lively decoupaged background of yellow and gray, where pattern, color, and texture turn a humble piece of fruit into something decidedly more interesting.

The combination of acrylic paint and collage gives this small still life plenty of personality and dimension. At just 6 × 6 inches, it’s another little painting that refuses to behave like one.
