Peaceful Pasture began with an underpainting of bleeding tissue paper—nothing dramatic, despite the name. It’s simply a playful way of letting color flow, mingle, and surprise me before I decide where the painting wants to go.

From those dreamy layers, this little landscape emerged: open pasture, a stone wall, distant trees, and power lines crossing the view. I especially like those ordinary signs of human presence. They keep the landscape grounded in the everyday rather than turning it into some imaginary, perfectly untouched place.

At just 8 × 6 inches, Peaceful Pasture captures one of those unassuming rural views that can make you stop for a moment and simply enjoy where you are.
